Ryan, Ryan, Ryan! What would we do without Ryan? Decorator extraordinaire, writer and illustrator of a thousand love notes, protector of Graf, best friend to Izzy, recycling nazzi, braiding master and on and on.
Here is a day in the life of Ryan: Wakes up somewhere in the 6:50's and convinces me that it's close enough to 7:00 to get out of bed (and drag Izzy with her whom she is not suppose to wake up, but, woops, I made some loud noises on accident). Heads to the computer where she has figured out how to google search for coloring pages of specific desired genres...copies...pastes to a Word document...prints...one for Izzy too. Then she colors, cuts, pastes...voila...project complete! Who she is presenting it to as a gift or where it is being hung to decorate is the final decision.
Time for school! Purple clothes of some sort with boots and no socks (if she can get away with it). She fixes her own hair--a self taught braid perhaps. Or maybe 6 clips down the side...she loves how it makes her hair wavy when she takes them out. Granola is the cereal of choice. She rattles off her turn reading scriptures a fast as anyone. Now is the push to get in as much pretend play-time with Izzy as possible before it's time to head to the bus.
At the bus stop she must kiss Graf, Dec, and I and then remind me to wave to her on the bus. Apparently at school things go well. There is never a complaint except for that she is pretty talkative and that she tries to get work done as fast as possible so as to have plenty of time to color, cut, and paste a project together. (Side bragging note: Recently we got her NAGLIERI scores back--a "non-verbal" test that measures IQ--and she scored a 136 which put her in the 99th percentile!!)
After school she tries to get away with some computer time every now and then. Otherwise she and Izzy (and Graf if they let him) go at it. Stuffed animals, Graf's Jeep, more art projects, as many snacks as she can beg off me, 10 minutes of piano practice and about the same of homework.
Bedtime is not anybody's favorite, but Ryan, in particular, loves to draw it out. Lots of "you forgot to kiss me" and "will you listen to my prayers" and "sing us a song please." Luckily all are very sweet experiences with our lovely, loving, toothless, almost 7 year old. In fact the prayers are usually quite the treat as she comes up with some unexpected requests. Recently she prayed that "Daddy would be comfortable on his trip and treated fairly and meet new people."
LOVE YOU RYAN!!

Showing her newly lost tooth hole and her RC shirt from Dad who went to Australia which she corrected did not stand for Rip Curl, rather for Ryan Costley. |
No, it is not sunday! These ladies like to dress up for school. |
Lots of basketball pictures for Lorin means we must create some shots for Ryan to pose in. :) |
